Hello! My name is Clarenz Portades, and I am a Schulich Leader pursuing Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan.

Normally, I tell people my passion for technology began as a kid by playing games on my tablet. While that is 100% true, after reflecting on the “why” behind pursuing Computer Science, it all started with watching K-dramas during the pandemic. Interesting, right?

My pandemic hobby of watching K-dramas, specifically the show Start Up, introduced me to the world of startups, coding, artificial intelligence and the place many aspiring tech lovers dream of being in: Silicon Valley.

Fast forward, I went on to create an impact throughout my community, working with Saskatoon’s largest business districts and developing some of the city’s first platforms on Driftscape. For me, that impact is just starting.

As I continue on the unique journey that led me to pursue Computer Science, I want to showcase and elevate my skills in technology, content management and community partnerships, turning ideas into digital solutions.
