The Broadway Business Improvement District represents more than 150 businesses and property owners, serving the eclectic Broadway community in Saskatoon by helping local shops grow, plan fun events, beautifying the avenue and build strong partnerships in the community.
I was hired as the Marketing and Events Assistant in 2025, and received a return offer in 2026 to work as their Marketing Coordinator.
My marketing initatives for 2025 was focused on the district's "Love Local" strategic awareness campaign, when major construction risked a decrease in visitors for the Broadway District. Some notable projects I took on were interviewing business owners for Faces on Broadway and creating the branding for our first ever Block Parties and Ghouls and Goodies on Broadway.
For 2026, I operated the district's social media and website, developing the branding for our new Community Table event and leading a variety of initiatives such as Broadway Hot Takes, Merchant Mondays and What's Happening on Broadway.

The Broadway Business Improvement District celebrated its 40th anniversary on August 2026. I led the marketing for their Birthday Bash, where I focused on a key theme: nostalgia.
Broadway District has been a favourite for many generations, and with a retro concept that fits for the younger generation and is very reminiscent for long-time residents of Broadway, the marketing for the Birthday Bash brings everyone of all ages to look back on the memories they have made in the district.
Through promotions, throwback photos and a district-wide birthday candle scavenger hunt, our Meta platforms gained over 175,000 views, with several posts achieving some of the highest engagement throughout the summer. In addition, our party filled with treats from Broadway businesses, historic trivia and nostalgic activities had brought almost 200 people.
Broadway Hot Takes is a mini social media series I created in 2026.
My past projects focused heavily on the businesses to help increase foot traffic back in 2025. This time around, I wanted a series that can include the visitors and residents that make up the Broadway District, while still finding ways to help promote businesses and connect with the district's community by asking people's "hot takes" on a certain topic relating to Broadway.
The series allowed visitors to shoutout their favourite businesses and share their opinion on camera or in the comments. At times, it becomes a friendly competition to see which business is most favoured or provide new recommendations and perspectives that are relevant to the district.

I worked on the branding behind our first Community Table event. The event is a new community gathering that brings neighbours together over food, conversation, and fun.
The content I have created generated over 50,000 views on our platform and hundreds of forms of engagement, most notably shares.

Faces on Broadway is a social media series I developed in 2025 that features outgoing individuals with enthusiastic personalities through short, personal video interviews. The videos highlight owners or managers of local businesses around Broadway.
Aligning with the business district's "Love Local" summer campaign, the goal for the series is to exhibit the district's vibrant spirit by spotlighting deserving individuals who bring in the eclectic energy Broadway is known for.
The series has earned over 100,000 views on the business district's Instagram and Facebook pages. Feel free to watch some of the interviews below!

I worked on various designs and social media posts for our first ever Broadway Block Parties back in 2025. The idea behind the branding was to create a βdate-night or night out with friendsβ atmosphere, where we had vendors and buskers turn the avenue into a night market filled with lots of entertainment.
This was the first time I got to create a digital billboard, several a-frames and physical signs that were displayed all over the district. Additionally, my content for our socials generated a reach of 50,000 users in one month.

This was a Father's Day marketing initiative I made for the business district, where patrons could enter by commenting their best dad joke. The comment with the most likes would win a gift bundle, containing a limited-edition bunnyhug and tote bag filled with goodies from local businesses around the district.
Despite having a quick turnaround with only three days to enter, there were a total of 55 entries (or jokes) for 5,600 people who viewed the post to like their favourite jokes. It was a simple, efficient way for patrons to engage with one another and promote the district's account by sharing and interacting on the post.
