Driftscape is a free travel app that brings local history, culture, and businesses to life across North America through interactive maps. The platform serves as both a self-guided tour tool for explorers and a promotion engine for tourism. Some of the features I used on my projects were Tours and GPS-triggered audio guides for narrated walking tours, Augmented Reality for an interactive scavenger hunt, and AiListings to build business directories.
The Downtown Saskatoon Business Improvement District advocates for and advancing the success of Downtown Saskatoon’s business community. The BID operates as a non-profit organization, and focuses on a range of services to enhance and promote the district.
I worked in a freelance role as a Project Developer, where I was referred to create Downtown Saskatoon BID’s platform on Driftscape. During my term, I developed several walking tours and AiListings to attract tourists and locals into the district. I also collaborated with staff and clients to train or integrate other software on our platform.
The Broadway Business Improvement District represents more than 150 businesses and property owners, serving the eclectic Broadway community in Saskatoon by helping local shops grow, plan fun events, beautifying the avenue and build strong partnerships in the community.
I was hired as the Marketing and Events Assistant in 2025, where I assisted in marketing and communication projects and events for the neighbourhood. During this term, I took on a significant portion of developing the business district’s platform on Driftscape, a first for the city of Saskatoon. Known for its tourism activations, I worked within tight deadlines to ensure key points of interest (POIs) were included, such as walking tours, promotions and even a AR scavenger hunt. Within three months, we had over 15,000 visitors on our tourist platform.
Hearts on Broadway was an augmented-reality (AR) scavenger hunt that was exclusive to Driftscape during our Broadway Street Fair event in 2025. It combines two features on Driftscape: Quests and Points & Rewards.
The idea was inspired by Pokémon Go, where instead of collecting pokemons, you collect hearts in exchange for draw entries to win one of several $100 prize packages from our participating merchants.
The project was challenging yet very rewarding, as the scavenger hunt required a quick turnaround, lots of troubleshooting and testing prior to its release.
